It was 2007. And this was the Gluz2 Team: Rubén Pollán aka meskio, Pablo Guerrero aka siriux and me. We spent a few weeks in Chuseu hacking over Ubuntu. We learned, we hacked and we had a lot lot of fun. I remember us with all our gadgets in my grandpa’s hall. Our nights building packages and ISO images, drinking anisette. Our slow 56k modem Internet connection. Our walks arround the small village discussing the development with all those old residant looking at us in a funny way … our little daughter was born: Gluz2 GNU/Linux.

Today Rubén is travelling along Chile and Argentina, Pablo is back in Zaragoza, he has becomed a warper and me, well, I’m living in Dublin, but this is another story. This post is about siriux and meskio. I hope we can meet again soon dudes!

New jabberd2 packages, the Debian XMPP team blooms

I’ve just uploaded new gsasl, jabberd2 and jabber-muc packages to ftp-master. This is the first release since we moved to git for packging and means a big step for the new Debian XMPP team. I hope this way we can welcome more developers to join the team and improve the Jabber/XMPP status in Debian. This work has been sponsored by my employer in order to improve the jabber module of eBox Platform. BTW, we’ll try to release not only Ubuntu packages but also Debian very soon :-).

me llevaba de aquí para allá, por la mañana, por la noche, por la noche ! me subía y siempre de vuelta a casa. si hacía frio veloz como una gacela, si hacía bueno de paseo. no era una bici perfecta, pero conocíamos nuestros defectos y nos queríamos mucho el uno al otro.

siempre me esperó ahí donde la dejaba. anoche algún desaprensivo amigo de lo ajeno, se la llevó. estaba aparcada en la calle san miguel, ahí la perdí, pero quedará su recuerdo.

si véis algún sujeto subido en una minibici amarilla y plegable tal cual esta, no hay muchas por aquí. dadle el alto !

la empresa

desde hace 4 días soy otro trabajador más de, como dice javifields, “la empresa“. llegué de casualidad, una mala resaca diría yo, casi ni me acuerdo del día que decidí presentarme a esas oposiciones, bastante ha cambiado desde entonces. a pesar de tener mucho tiempo para uno mismo, para contribuir al software libre, o lo que más te apetezca, me agota anímicamente, me deprimo; la burocracia y el “que hacer” de funcionario creo que no es para mi, al menos por ahora … os cuento próximamente más ;-) si sobrevivo a las próximas 3 semanas !
